This cannon, obviously
a war trophy, was most likely captured during World War I. However,
it is also possible that the cannon was part of a Spanish contract
and was captured during the Spanish-American War. It is difficult
to trace the history of this cannon because the serial numbers
once engraved around the lip of the cannon have worn away. |
